What is the mode of therapy going to be?

Therapeutic services will be provided over audio or video conferencing via Google Meet. These services will only be available to you via an appointment that will be scheduled over email or through a Calendly link, by mutually deciding a day and time that works for the therapist and you.

How can you schedule an appointment?

You can access the therapist’s schedule via their Calendly link on the website or from the link in the Instagram bio, based on their availability. If you are unable to see a desired time slot on the calendar, you can get in touch with your therapist via email for more clarity.  Alternatively, a Google Meet invite will be sent by the therapist prior to the next appointment/at the end of every session if a mutually convenient date and time have been discussed.

What is the length of each session and how many sessions will you need?

The duration of each individual session is 50-60 minutes. Frequency and duration of sessions depends on many factors, and from client to client. Your therapist will discuss what an approximate length of engagement will look like by the end of the initial consultation or the first paid session.

What is an initial consultation?

An initial consultation is your first session with a therapist of your choice. You can use this time to share some of the reasons you chose to take a consultation based on your comfort level. You can also use this opportunity to get an idea about what future sessions might look like and how your therapist communicates. We strongly believe that a therapist-client alliance is important and we want you to gauge your level of ease and comfort in being able to open up to your therapist.

What are the per session charges?

The initial consultation (60 minutes) is free of charge. All subsequent sessions are chargeable, as per the payment plan opted for by you. All payments are to be made prior to the session. An appointment will be considered confirmed only after payment is made. Payments can be made via Google Pay, PayTm or using your credit/debit card via Stripe.

Barring special circumstances, if the duration of the session exceeds by more than 15 minutes (over the 60 minute duration), you will be required to pay for the additional time.

Is there a sliding scale?

Yes, we do have a sliding scale. We understand the need to balance affordability and quality care, and we strive to find common ground that is fair to our therapists as well as our clients. Our primary concern is getting you the help that you need as soon as possible, and if our advertised rates are not suitable to you, we encourage you to reach out to team@spacetoaccept.com to discuss how we can work something out!

How can I re-schedule/cancel my session?

In the event of rescheduling or a cancellation, the therapist will require a minimum 24-hour notice. Rescheduled or cancelled sessions without a 24-hour notice on more than two occasions will be considered paid, except in cases of emergency and as per the discretion of the therapist. In either event, the client is encouraged to reschedule a session within the next few days to keep the momentum going.

If the client fails to show up for sessions and does not respond to the therapist’s attempts to reschedule, we will be forced to assume that the client has dropped out of therapy and the therapist will make that slot available to another client.

What are assessments and why do you need them?

Where required, the therapist may suggest you take a psychological assessment/evaluation by way of psychometric tools and batteries, for the purpose of diagnosis, gaining greater understanding of symptoms and/or monitoring progress. The rationale for the need and use of specific tests will be explained to you beforehand.  The assessment will be conducted via online forms during one or more regular sessions, depending on the number and length of tests. The evaluation report will be made available to you one week after the completion of assessment and the results will be discussed in the following session.

The assessment carries a one-time separate charge inclusive of the following:

  • Evaluation of test results
  • Detailed report and report discussion
  • Regular repeat testing (with one or more tests) for the purpose of monitoring progress

If the therapist feels the need to introduce one or more new tests further in the course of sessions and after the initial assessment has been completed, the same will be discussed with you and a mutually agreed upon course of action will be taken. You will be informed about the nature of these additional test(s) and charges for the same, depending on the number and/or type of test.

The client reserves the right to refuse any or all psychological assessment. Further, the client reserves the right to discontinue the assessment (if begun) at any point.

How you do you know your privacy is protected?

Additionally, any data we gather about you through the therapy process is stored in password protected folders on-prem. Currently, we are working on creating HIPAA compliant procedures to ensure that your data stays safe and protected.
